With a classic sound, freckled face, and a full heart, rising country artist, Krystal King, brings a voice to Nashville that we have all needed. Originally from Hickory, NC, Krystal King has a fresh take on a true country sound, combining raw and emotionally laced vocals with vivid, imagery infused songwriting.
Krystal is your down to earth "next door redneck" with a real, honest, fun, and quirky personality that naturally seeps into her songs. She's not afraid to say what she is thinking- whether that's diving into heartfelt emotions or picking on her husband in songs like "You're the Reason That I Drink."
At three years old, Krystal caught a snippet of Alan Jackson on the radio...and the rest is history. Country music was in her bones. She followed this love of music to college where she studied Music Therapy at Appalachian State University (home of Eric Church & Luke Combs) and worked as a psychiatric music therapist. While she loved being able to use music to help others, Krystal knew that country music was where she belonged, so....she moved to Nashville.
Krystal's sound has been described as 90's country with a bit of folk, blues, soul, and rock. Krystal combines early influences of artists such as Alan Jackson, Dixie Chicks, Reba, Lee Ann Womack, & Willie Nelson with modern likes of Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, Sugarland, & Ashley McBryde. When it comes to songwriting, Krystal says "Loretta Lynn is my alter ego."
Krystal has released 15 original singles, 6 of which were produced by Mike Loudermilk (previously producing and playing guitar for Crystal Gayle). In 2025, Krystal released her Debut Album "Pretty Poison." The first single from the project, "Red Wine & White Lies" is has over 15K streams on Spotify and "Mind Your Own Backyard," a quirky murder song from the album, has 27K music video views and is featured on the Heartland Network and CountryLine. In addition this video took home the 2025 Josie Award for Music Video of the Year and Krystal was additionally awarded a Josie for her actress role in the video.
Krystal has had the honor of performing iconic stages including the Bluebird Cafe, The Listening Room Cafe and Tootsies Orchid Lounge in Nashville and tours nationally visiting NC, TN, WI, AL, AZ, MS, FL, TX, LA and Indiana. Additionally Krystal has played several festivals with headliners including Walker Hayes (West Haven Porch Fest), Craig Morgan (Keys To Country), Kristian Bush (Meeting of the Minds) and opened for Beth Neilson Chapman (writer of "This Kiss" by Faith Hill.). In 2024, Krystal had the honor of performing the VIP Lounge at Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville for the Lainey Wilson Concert 2024 and both Whiskey Myers & Rod Steward 2025. Other notable performances included the National Anthem for the Charlotte FC out of the Panthers Stadium and the Novant Health Thanksgiving Parade in Charlotte, NC. Krystal's music has been featured on iHeart Radio's 96.9 Kat Country Bracket and Kickin' Country Radio in NC as well as Sirius XM's Radio Margaritaville.
One of Krystals biggest passions is songwriting, "I wanted to be an artist in the true sense of the word. Not only did I want to sing and be on stage, but I wanted to have a voice through writing and producing my own songs." Krystal has had early success in her songwriting career as the 2018 winner of the Hickory Oktoberfest Songwriting Competition, 2019 Old School Songwriting Contest, and a co-writer on cuts from Thomas Kavanagh, Kirstie Kraus, Laura Rabell, Taylor Hughes, Zach McCabe, & Allison Asarch. "Who Am I Gonna Love" a song released by Thomas Kavanagh and Kirstie Kraus, has been featured on The Ty Bentli show and stations in the UK including BBC Radio. "Jesus & Jail" by Taylor Hughes won the 2023 "Song of the Year" in Lexington, KY.
In 2025 Krystal was honored with the Josie Music Award for Female Artist of the Year in Country Rock & Southern Rock. This resulted in Krystal accepting 3 awards on the stage of the iconic Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
Krystal's latest endevour is as the newest voice on Radio Margaritaville on Sirius XM. You can hear Krystal on the air on Thursday evening 7pm-12am EST as well as Saturdays and Sundays 10am-3pm Eastern Standard Time.
